MAJOR repairs to Shipley Glen Tramway after its track was wrecked by floods are sticking to the scheduled timetable and it is due to re-open in time for the Saltaire World Heritage Weekend on April 16 and 17.
Trustee Geoff Stanley and a gang of volunteers have replaced much of the ballast to go beneath sleepers and have just started putting down the pairs of rails which run up the steep hill from Roberts Park.
"We've made a good start and have two 40 metre lengths of track to put down, so everything is going to plan at this stage," he said.
