Revellers enjoyed fun in the snow as the district was hit by a blast of wintry weather over the weekend.

Pictures have emerged of people in Bingley enjoying themselves in the town's snow-covered streets on Saturday night.

And many across the district awoke to a winter wonderland on Sunday morning, presenting the ideal opportunity for sledging and building snowmen.

The Met Office said outbreaks of rain this morning could fall as snow over hills, but the weather would become mainly dry this afternoon.

A Met Office spokesman said: "The precipitation will be mostly light but may lead to the odd cm of snow accumulating in places, particularly over higher ground.
