PEOPLE in Bradford who look after a loved one who is frail, has a disability or is seriously ill, are invited to find out about help available at an open day.
Carers’ Resource, a charity which supports more than 12,500 unpaid carers, is holding a drop-in to mark Carers Rights Day on November 20 from 10am to 1pm.
The Marketplace for Carers and Professionals will be held at the charity's office in Park View Court, St Paul’s Road, Shipley.
It will give people a chance to get a flavour of the wide range of services and projects on offer for those living in Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.
The charity's director Chris Whiley, pictured, said: "Carers Rights Day helps to raise awareness about carers’ entitlement to help and support, their rights to access that support, and to fly the flag for recognition of carers overall.
"The Care Act was implemented earlier this year – a huge breakthrough for recognition for carers - and it brought with it new rights for carers to get an assessment, receive services and get support."
The event will highlight various schemes and services, including the Carer’s Wellbeing Grant - up to £200 for carers to spend on themselves for their own health or wellbeing.
