MEMBERS of Shipley Rotary Club will be in the foyer of the ASDA store in Shipley (pictured) from this Friday for a week.

From 10am, they will greet customers and encourage them to take part in the club's annual Christmas Tree Appeal.

For the last 20 years, members of the public have collected a ticket from Rotary members bearing the gender and age of a child, and purchased a suitable Christmas present for that child.

The Rotary Club has received nominations from various groups and organisations nominating the children and will deliver the presents nearer the big day.

From money donated, food hampers or food tokens are also distributed to families who may be going through difficult times.

This year, nearly 200 presents have been requested.

If any presents are returned without a member being present they can be left with the mobility contact or customer services staff.
