A CHILD has been spoken to by police after being excluded for taking a penknife into primary school.
The head teacher of Hoyle Court Primary School, in Baildon, today said the knife was quickly taken from the child by staff.
Lynda Florence added: "A child brought a small penknife into school, which we swiftly confiscated.
"Nobody's safety was ever at risk but the child was temporarily excluded under established procedures.
"We have been working with the family and the police to educate the child about knives, safety and the inappropriateness of bringing a penknife into school."
