BANK staff put their heads together to raise money for a children's charity

TSB in Shipley joined other branches across the country by taking part in Wig Wednesday yesterday.

Workers donned their most colourful hairpieces to support children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

More than 100,000 people across the country took part in last year's Wig Wednesday, raising £280,000 for the charity.

Schools, offices and other workplaces across the country also took part.

Staff and customers who visited the Wellcroft branch were urged to dig deep and give to the charity.

The Shipley branch is one of 60 TSB banks across Northern England taking part.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager for Yorkshire Stephen Jackett said staff had looked forward to seeing everyone's headgear.

"It’s great they’ve got involved in Wig Wednesday as, given the cutbacks and strains on NHS services, charity fundraising is playing an ever more vital role in front line services and Wig Wednesday is a fantastic means to raise those funds," he said.
