FORTY two jobs have been lost after administrators were called in at a Shipley-based greeting cards company.

Regent Greeting Cards had a staff of 81 but 42 of those have now been made redundant following the sale of part of the business.

KPMG have confirmed that Howard Smith and Jonny Marston from its restructuring practice were appointed as joint administrators at the Dockfield Road firm on February 10.

That resulted in the sale of part of the business to a company called IParty Limited, saving 41 jobs.

But the changes mean greetings cards will no longer be manufactured, resulting in 42 people being made redundant, KPMG said in a statement.
