Expert will talk on workhouses
AIREBOROUGH Historical Society will hold its next meeting at Guiseley Methodist Church on Thursday, December 11.
The guest speaker will be Peter Higginbotham, who will deliver The Story of the Workhouse.
Mr Higginbotham is described as an expert on the subject, and as well as being the author of several books, he has appeared on the Radio4 programmes Making History and Tracing Your Roots.
He has also appeared on BBC television on programmes including Who Do You Think You Are, Time Shift and Heir Hunters.
On January 8, the society will hold its annual lunch at the Peashill Hotel in Rawdon.
