RADIOGRAPHERS at Airedale Hospital will join colleagues in another national strike over a continuing pay freeze.

The Society of Radiographers (SoR) will stage a four-hour walkout on November 24 and work-to-rule for the remainder of the week.

It follows similar action last month, when some patients’ routine appointments at Airedale had to be rearranged.

Emergency care continued to be provided.

Richard Evans, for the SoR, said this week: “We had an overwhelmingly positive response to our last strike.

“The public was very supportive and understood that this dispute is over more than just a pay rise, it’s about ensuring the NHS can recruit and retain highly skilled staff to deliver quality healthcare services.”

Other NHS trade unions, including Unison, are also planning to take part in the latest action.
