A 16-YEAR-OLD boy died after being struck by a train near Shipley.
British Transport Police were called to the railway line close to Shipley station at 7.17pm yesterday.
Paramedics and West Yorkshire Police were called to attend but the boy, who has not been named but was local, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers have informed the boy’s family and a specially trained officer is providing them with support. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The incident caused severe delays on the Airedale and Wharfedale lines affecting many services between Bradford, Leeds and while an investigation took place.
