YOUNG tenants with Incommunities enjoyed helping to create a big picture wall and giving their views on where they live.

The event at the housing group’s Shipley base was organised as a follow-up to West Yorkshire Police's Summer Camp which the youngsters had attended.

They were asked to express their experiences of summer camp in a painting or drawing, and also enjoyed a disco and played football.

The event was run by Incommunities staff and supported by representatives from Bradford College and West Yorkshire Police.

Connor Humphrey, 12, of Keighley who attended the event with his brother Tyler, 13, said: "It was great fun meeting up and being creative , we can’t wait to meet everyone again."

Helen Gibson, director of Incommunities - Neighbourhood Services, said: “We are keen to build closer links with our younger customers and hear about their experiences and issues that affect them.

“We wanted to engage with those younger tenants who had attended the West Yorkshire Police Summer Camp. It was a fabulous day and everyone who came along is keen to meet up again.

“Two of the older teenagers are also keen to get involved in planning future events.”

All the creative contributions from the day will go into creating a big display in the reception at The Quays.
