A GROUP of Maasai warriors will perform an 'enthralling and exciting' concert in Shipley later this month.

The Osiligi Maasai Warrior Troupe, who have performed for royalty three times, will entertain at St Paul's Church on October 28.

The visit is part of a UK tour - the group is now in its 11th year touring the country - which will also see the group perform at All Saints Church in Ilkley the following day.

A spokesman for Osiligi said the tours helps troupe members raise money for their families and community, which is about 30 miles south of Nairobi in Kenya.

The money has helped provide fresh clean water, install solar lighting to light homes, and build a church and school.

The spokesman added: "The troupe's performance is a sensation to watch, with all ages, from five to 95, being enthralled and excited by their natural rhythm and song. Their jumping, for which they are famous, is wondrous to watch.

"All performances, which tell the story of their lives, are fully narrated, and audience participation is a part of the show."

The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 for adults, £8 for senior citizens, and £5 for children. They are available from Osiligi.ticketsource.co.uk, St Paul's Church on Saturdays from 10am to 12 noon, or from Sue and Ian Stevens on 01274 407988.
