Pupils win 'motorcycle Olympics'
A group of students from Bradford have won the Junior Class Category at the International Classic Motorcycle Show, the largest show of its kind in the world.
The show, at the Staffordshire County Showground, has been running for 28 years with entries from as far afield as Japan and America.
The youngsters from schools including Holy Family RC, Oakbank and Bradford Pupil Referral Unit, have attended classes in motorcycle restoration at Park Lane College, Keighley, since September.
Their work in restoring a 1964 motorcycle, which they worked on for six months from October, won them first prize in the junior section and they were also highly commended overall.
The gold cup trophy and rosette were presented to tutor Roger Henderson by veteran racer and former World Champion, Kork Barrington. Mr Henderson said: "The Classic Motorcycle Show is the Olympics of the motorcycle world and to win their category is a fantastic achievement."
Pupils in the team included Alan Grayson, of Holy Family RC, Sam Young, of Oakbank, and Danny Emsley, Bradford PRU.
