Walk to boost good causes
With spring upon us the NSPCC is calling for people to put a spring in their step and join a charity walk on Saturday from Haworth.
The Red and White Rose Challenge Walk is being organised by two keen walkers from the Rotary Club of Roundhay in Leeds.
The event is open to everyone to enjoy and walkers have the option of doing a seven or 22-mile circular route taking in some of the prettiest countryside on the Yorkshire-Lancashire border.
Malcolm Hird and David Millard have been walking friends for 20 years and this will be the eighth charity walk they have organised.
Malcolm said: "Having spent the past 20 years tramping across the South Pennines, this walk includes some of wonderful places we have discovered along the way and joins up some of the highlights of the hillsides."
All sponsorship money will be split between the NSPCC and an orphanage in Pietersburgh, South Africa, close to the Zimbabwe border.
Registration on the day will be from 8am at West Lane Methodist Chapel Hall in Haworth.
For more information or to request an entry form contact Malcolm Hird on (0113) 2698694.
