A 16-year-old youth has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in the Cark Road area of Keighley.
Police received reports of a large gang of youths "running around with big sticks" near Devonshire Park at around 7.15pm on Tuesday.
The boy, who was among a group of 20 people aged between 14 and 18, is due to appear at Bingley youth court on Friday.
Inspector Mark Allsop from Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team said patrols in the area would be stepped up over the next few days.
