A timber firm has made a new bid for permission to build more than 70 homes at its headquarters, on the site of an old railway station.

Denholme-based CR Taylor, is seeking planning permission from Bradford Council to replace its base in Station Road with two and three bedroom homes.

The application also includes proposals for three business units totalling 5,500 sq ft and, if successful, will pave the way for a move to a new sawmill on a three-acre site closer to the M62 motorway.

Planning officers at Bradford Council have recommended outline planning permission is granted, despite concerns about traffic safety, should the 73-home development be given the go ahead.

Charles Taylor, chief executive of CR Taylor, was unavailable for a comment, but has previously told the Telegraph & Argus the company was looking to relocate to a site about a quarter of the size of the land at Denholme.

Shipley Area Planning Panel meets at Bingley Town Hall at 10am on Thursday.
