FINAL plans are being drawn-up for this year's Keighley Show.

And organisers are reminding the public that time is running out for those wishing to buy cut-price tickets in advance.

Discounted online sales, giving a £2 reduction on adult admission and a £1 saving on concessions, end on Saturday, August 25.

More than a dozen outlets across the Keighley district are also selling the reduced-rate tickets, until August 29.

Admission on the day will be £8 for adults and £5 concessions, which apply to people aged 60 and over and children between five and 15. Under-fives are admitted free.

A huge range of attractions is lined-up for the show, being held at Marley playing fields on Saturday, September 1.

Among those providing entertainment in the main ring will be SMJ Falconry, which is giving two displays of its birds in flight. It will also have a stand.

Popular stone-carving demonstrations, by Swales in the Dales, will be making a return to the annual extravaganza.

There will also be displays of vintage cars, bikes, tractors and other vehicles.

Music will be provided by the City of Bradford Pipe Band.

Also featuring will be the West Riding Wood Turners, terrier and ferret racing, a fun dog show, show jumping and heavy horses.

The usual array of trade stands will be present, both outdoors and within the craft and local food marquee, together with a licensed bar and catering.

There are children's amusements and pony rides.

Traditional show classes will include cattle, sheep, pygmy goats, poultry, rabbits, guinea pigs and equestrian.

Event bosses are encouraging people to get involved.

A spokesman said: "There is still time to enter something in the more-than-60 classes in the handicraft, art, photography and baking section – for adults and children – or in over 100 classes in the horticulture section for novices and experienced gardeners alike."

Free parking will be available, or visitors can make use of a free heritage bus service – linking Hanover Street, the railway station and showground – provided by Keighley Bus Museum Trust.
