A HOUSEBUILDER with schemes in Keighley and Cullingworth has recruited five new apprentices.

Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has taken on the quintet, comprising joiners and bricklayers.

Among them is 22-year-old Luke Rhodes, an apprentice bricklayer at the Hewenden Ridge development, in Cullingworth.

Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes the David Wilson Homes brand, has now recruited 39 apprentices over the past decade as part of its award-winning programme.

Construction director, Darren Johnson, said: "We are delighted to welcome the five latest apprentices to our sites.

"We're keen to encourage more young people into the construction industry and offer them the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to have a long and successful career with us.

"Many of our senior team members started as apprentices so we are looking forward to watching our new recruits learn, progress and become an integral part of the team for the future."
