A CARE provider based in Haworth was awarded an overall rating of "Good" in its latest inspection conducted by the Care Quality Commission. (CQC)

The body examined the provision offered by Worth Valley Care Services, which has its office in Victoria Road.

All five of the categories assessed by the CQC were rated as Good.

Reacting this week to the inspection's findings Janine Cooper, Worth Valley Care Services' registered manager, said: "We are thrilled with the report. All the hard work by management and carers has been acknowledged, and we will continue to provide this quality of care to our local community."

The agency provides care and support to residents in their own homes. It helps a variety of adults such as older people, individuals with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with mental health conditions.

The CQC report, published at the end of last month, (July) concluded: "The service remained safe and people were protected from the risk of abuse. We were told care workers were discreet and respected their privacy.

"People's medicines were managed safety, and there were enough suitably trained staff available to ensure people received the right care and support at the right time.

"We were told the service was very reliable and flexible. Risks to people's safety and welfare were identified and managed.

"People's care records included information about their likes and dislikes and staff knew people well.

"We were told care workers were kind and caring and that the registered manager and office staff were approachable.

"We found people were involved in planning how their care and support would be delivered. People told us they'd no reason to complain about the service, but said they wouldn't hesitate to talk to the registered manager if they had concerns.

"People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible.

"Everyone we spoke with told us they'd recommend the service to friends or family."
