LEADING social housing landlord Incommunities is launching more job clubs in the Keighley area.

The free weekly drop-in sessions in Braithwaite will help local job seekers into work and training.

Sessions will run at the Rainbow Centre on Braithwaite Grove on Mondays, 10am to noon.

A second drop–in will run at the Keith Thompson Centre on Coronation Mount on Tuesdays, from 9.30am to 11.30am.

The job clubs will be officially launched on July 31 from 9.30am to 11.30am at the Keith Thompson Centre.

Staff from Incommunities’ Job Club Team will be on hand to give advice and support on subjects such as sourcing job search Internet sites, preparing CVs, completing job applications, learning basic computer skills accessing free training courses.

Jobseekers will also build their confidence, learn how to use the Government’s Universal Job match service, and be signposted to volunteering opportunities.

Staff will also be put in touch with Incommunities’ paid six-month placement programme, which is able to help job seekers build their skill levels and find permanent employment.

Adrienne Reid, Incommunities’ Assistant Chief Executive, Neighbourhoods, said: “We are aware from our customer feedback that there is a real need for this one-to-one service that helps people build their confidence levels and make the right move into work.

“Our Job Clubs are open to anyone looking for their first job, needing to develop their skill sets or wanting to get back into work after a break in their employment.

“With these new additions we will run and support 12 job clubs around the district. They are open to anyone looking for support, guidance or signposting to local services such as further training and career advice.”
