A POPULAR annual coffee day in aid of Manorlands staged by a dedicated Haworth fundraiser takes place again this month.

The Friday July 27 event will be at Sowdens Farm, Dimples Lane, Haworth and will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm, then from 6.30pm to 9pm. Everyone is welcome.

Among the attractions will be a variety of stalls selling cakes and bric-a-brac, as well as a raffle and tombolas.

This event is organised by local resident Kath Neal, who over 25 years has raised at least £50,000 for the hospice.

In recognition of her tireless efforts she and her husband Andrew were invited to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace earlier this year.

Backed by her family and friends, her annual coffee day has continued to grow since it was first held, with last year’s event taking in a record total of £4,004.

Mrs Neal has also generated additional funds for the hospice through selling Christmas cards.

And last year her husband raised a further £760 after requesting donations instead of presents for his 60th birthday.
