A SECURITY guard who vandalised a taxi as part of a “long-running feud” with an enemy in Keighley has avoided jail.
Wasim Khan, 31, pulled up behind a car being driven by Usman Farooq outside a takeaway in East Parade on December 16 last year.
Prosecutor Richard Walters told Bradford Crown Court that Khan got out of his vehicle and smashed the windows and the back windscreen of the taxi before then driving off.
He said: “Nothing at all was said during the incident.”
Father-of-three Khan, of Park Grove, Keighley, admitted threatening behaviour with an offensive weapon and criminal damage.
The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC, told Khan: “Whatever the grievance, you can’t do this on our streets. It’s not on, it has to stop.”
Khan was jailed for six months, suspended for a year, given 100 hours’ unpaid work, and told to pay £900 in compensation and costs.
