A BRAMHOPE man is celebrating winning a brand new car - plus £20,000.

Builder Michael Beardmore was surprised with the keys to a Mini Mugari Icon 2 (worth £37,000) and the money after entering a Best of the Best (BOTB) dream car competition.

The 46 year old received the good news at work and it couldn't have come at a better time, as he and his partner are expecting their second child.

The prizes also provided some consolation to the football fan following England's semi-final elimination from the World Cup.

He said: "I’m honestly speechless, I really can’t believe I’ve won!

"My partner and I are expecting our second child so I don’t think I’ll ever have a better week than this.

"I really keep thinking 'am I going to wake up in a minute?', it’s unbelievable.

"I watch the winners every week but never thought it would be my week.

"This couldn’t have come at a better time with the baby due, think how many nappies we can buy with £20,000."

Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, BOTB has handed over the keys to more than £22 million worth of sports cars as prizes.

The company has high-profile stands at airports and large shopping centres.
