A PUBLIC meeting will be held this week to look at the problem of disrespectful behaviour at Yeadon Cemetery. Leeds North West MP Alex Sobel called the meeting after crowds of visitors flocked to the graveyard to watch the arrival of a Royal Canadian Air Force C-17.
Grieving relatives accused them of turning the cemetery into a “mini-festival”, with children playing football and some people urinating on gravestones.
The meeting will take place from 4pm to 5pm on Friday, July 13 at Yeadon Methodist Church. Mr Sobel will be joined by representatives from Leeds City Council and West Yorkshire Police.
