WALKERS in Wharfedale are being asked to take on a tough 100km challenge for charity.
The 100K Yorkshire event is a 24 hour endurance walk that starts and ends in Nidderdale and takes in some stunning scenery.
Guide Dogs and Blind Veterans UK, who organise the walk, are seeking local volunteers to take part in this year's event which runs from Saturday, June 23 to Sunday, June 24.
Amy Petterson, who has completed the walk twice, said: "100K Yorkshire is one of the hardest, yet most rewarding, things I have ever done!
"Everyone is there for each other and all the other teams really drive you on and support you."
Participants are asked to fundraise for the charities to help provide life-changing services for people with sight loss.
Registration usually costs £50 per person but Guide Dogs is offering free registration to anyone who uses the discount code HOPTOIT-100 at the www.guidedogs.org.uk/100k18 .
More details can also be obtained by calling the Guide Dogs Events Team on 0345 143 0200.
