JUDE Kirton-Darling MEP will be coming to Ilkley to give a talk entitled Brexit and You: Looking to the future on Friday, May 18 at 7.30pm at Ilkley Grammar School on Cowpasture Road.

Jude Kirton-Darling has been an MEP since 2014. She is a member of the International Trade Committee and has 15 years of wide ranging experience in the fields of trade relations and workers’ rights.

Jude will explore how rights as workers and consumers will be affected after Brexit. If the UK leaves the Customs Union, what will be the likely impact on trade and jobs, especially in the north? What are the long term implications for the public sector, especially the NHS? What are the environmental implications?

Her talk will be followed by a question and answer session chaired by Ruth Pitt, local media executive, journalist and documentary maker. The overall aim of the event is to provide an informed and balanced presentation of the likely impact of Brexit on these aspects of national life.

All are welcome, whatever your views. To reserve a free place on line go to bit.ly/brexitandyou or just turn up on the evening.

This event is being organised by Ilkley Quakers.
