STAFF from Bradford Royal Infirmary raised more than £10,000 by completing a fundraising London to France bike ride.

The seven colleagues, and seven relatives, took part in a 300-mile cycle ride between the countries’ capital cities to support Bradford Hospitals Children’s Charity, a dedicated trust fund helping improve the experience of babies, children and their families at facilities run by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS foundation Trust.

The ride took four days, finishing under the shadow of Paris’s famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower.

But the journey was not without a couple of glitches, with two cyclists involved in accidents along the way suffering injuries.

Paediatric consultant Beccy Bardgett said: “It was a fantastic experience and we certainly had one or two challenges along the way; not least the unfortunate accidents and weather.

“On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank everyone for all the generous sponsorship and messages of support that we have received.”
