Two new mobile services have been unveiled in Bradford city centre by charity Health Action Local Engagement.
Shipley-based HALE’s original single deck bus, which toured the district giving diet and lifestyle information, was washed away in the Boxing Day floods and found wrecked in the River Aire.
Chief officer Natasha Thomas said: "We’re delighted that we have been able to replace that bus to continue delivering health work around Bradford and after winning a grant from the Clothworkers Foundation, purchase a campervan that we will be using to hold sewing workshops in the community, with the aim of increasing confidence, motivation and wellbeing.
"We've been overwhelmed by everyone's offer of help and generosity and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you, and with the support of our community we've been able to replace the bus and continue our work.
"We were so fortunate to acquire another bus from Inn Churches, a Bradford-based charity who have supported us immensely during this period, this meant we could quickly get back out into the community where we belong.
"It is amazing that in a space of a few months, we had no buses and now we have two."
