A BRADFORD-based autism charity will be campaigning in the city centre this week to raise awareness of the condition.

Specialist Autism Services, based at Queen Anne Chambers in Sunbridge Road, is holding an information stall at the bottom of Ivegate for the rest of the week to provide people with more information about autism and the work the charity does.

World Autism Day took place on April 2, but the charity has decided to hold a week of events to raise awareness of the issue.

Its spokesman Stefan Krolak said: "We will have our stall at the bottom of Ivegate, near the HSBC and KFC, all week and also in Waterstones on Wednesday, which has a display in the window and is good at promoting awareness of autism.

"We are just trying to get more awareness of autism and the work we do, and it would be great for the public to jump on board with the service.

"Our guys are brilliant, they really go above and beyond the call of duty to help the people we work with gain more independence and potentially into work."

The stall will be in Ivegate from 10.30am to 3pm until April 8.
