The hunt is on for future stars of the catwalk after Bradford Modelsearch was launched.

The competition is run by the Kirkgate Centre competition, organised in association with the Telegraph & Argus and DK Model Agency.

Scouts are out and about in the city, but budding models can also enter by printing off and filling in the form here here and submitting it and a photograph to the address on the form before Monday, April 23.

Successful entrants will be invited onto the catwalk for heats at the Kirkgate Centre on Sunday, May 6. Finalists will be selected to return to the centre to go before the judges at the final on Sunday, May 20.

A new category this year will see the finalists put to a public vote in the T&A Readers’ Choice category. Photographs will be published in a supplement in the T&A on Friday, May 11, from which readers can select male and female winners from each age category.

Kirkgate Centre manager Catherine Riley said: “We want you to come along and get noticed, so please don’t wait to be discovered. Register with the competition this year and see if they think you’ve got what it takes.

“The judges are ready, the stage is set, it’s just waiting for you to register. Don’t put it off, fill in the entry form and just send it off, as you never know what might happen.”

The competition is divided into four age categories – four to six; seven to ten; 11 to 15 and 16 and over.

Male and female winners from each age category will receive a share of £500 in shopping vouchers. Winners may also be taken on by the DK Model Agency.

Previous winners have gone on to model for companies including DFS, Argos, Vidal Sassoon and Sports Direct.

They include Chloe Windle, seven, who has worked on a TV advert for DFS after winning the age four to six age category in 2010 and 2011.
