Talent scouts were out and about in Brdford city centre this weekend searching for future stars of the catwalk.

Now in its 11th year, The Kirkgate Centre Model-search competition is being organised in association with the Telegraph & Argus and DK Model Agency, Sarah Dabrowski, from Modelsearch, was one of the scouts on the look-out.

She said: "We're having great success in Bradford.

Last year when we did it the weather was awful, the reces-sion was biting and there did-n't seem to be so many people about but it's changed this year.

"We're looking for real peo-ple with fresh, friendly faces."

One of those talent-spotted was 16-year-old Jack Brooker from Allerton whose has got his own band Volume 11 and has been growing his hair for the last five years. He said: "I'm more into my music than how I look but I'm going to give the Modelsearch com-petition a go."

Budding models can also enter themselves by filling in the form on this page and submitting a photograph before Monday, April 23.

Successful entrants will be invited on to the catwalk for heats at the Kirkgate Centre on Sunday, May 6. Finalists will be selected to return to the centre to go before the judges at the final on Sunday, May 20.

A new category this year will see the finalists put to a public vote in the T&A Readers' Choice category.

Photographs will be pub-lished in a supplement in the T&A on Friday, May 11, from which readers can select male and female winners from each age category.

Katie Holdsworth, of DK Model Agency, said this year, male models in particular were being sought.

The competition is divided into four age categories - four to six; seven to ten; 11 to 15 and 16 and over.

Male and female winners from each age category will receive a share of £500 in shopping vouchers. Winners may also be taken on by the DK Model Agency.

Previous winners have gone on to model for compa-nies including DFS, Argos, Vidal Sassoon and Sports Direct.

They include Chloe Windle, seven, who has worked on a TV advert for DFS after winning the age four to six age category in 2010 and 2011.
