ST George's Day celebrations started early today as members of the Royal Society of St George visited City Hall to drop off some red roses to the Lord Mayor.

Members of the Bradford Branch of the society visited the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Geoff Reid, in his chambers in the city centre.

They handed over a basket of red roses to the Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress Chris Reid ahead of St George's Day on Sunday.

To mark the event, the annual scout parade will take place in the city centre on Sunday from 11.45am.

The parade will begin at Bradford Cathedral, where the flag of St George will be flown, before heading around the city centre and finishing in Centenary Square.

A parade will also be taking place in Keighley on Sunday afternoon, starting at St Anne's Church at 2.45pm.

Throughout the weekend in Keighley there will also be a series of activities in Church Green, including fairground style rides, street entertainers and market stalls.
