British National Party leader, Nick Griffin, was interviewed by a Bushey Heath teenager in an interview that lasted almost an hour.

Gideon Benedyk, who questioned Mr Griffin is now urging young people to engage in politics.

Gideon, who has recently left his position of 15 months as a presenter for online station Wizard Radio, spoke to Mr Griffin in his final show on March 31.

The 15 year-old questioned Mr Griffin about the Holocaust, immigration, discrimination and homophobia.

In the interview, the controversial party leader said, in regards to rumours of his Holocaust denial, that "most people couldn’t give a damn about something that happened getting on a hundred years ago".

He also said that women who wear Burkas are dressed as "big black crows".

Gideon said: "I have never got emotional in a debate before. I think the most important skill in a presenter is being, effectively, unemotional.

"But with Nick I did get very emotional when he was making some totally disgusting comments about the holocaust."

Mr Griffin was unable to tell Gideon whether he believed the Holocaust happened or not because he was worried about going to prison in France or Germany, where it is illegal to be a deny of the genocide.

Gideon, whose father is a journalist and mother is a speech and anger therapist, said he has had a good grounding in politics.

He said he has three older brothers who act as his inspiration, because, despite them all being so different, they still share a common bond in their love for politics.

Gideon added: "I think it is so vital that young people take an active interest in current affairs because, effectively, we have 60-year-old men in parliament talking about the future when our young people are the future."

Gideon, who is currently a student at JFS, a Jewish secondary school in Kenton, said he hopes to continue with education and go to university to study a subject like politics.

Once he graduates, however, he plans to join the forces, with his ultimate ambition being to progress to become a high ranking Jewish officer in the British Army.

Gideon joined Wizard Radio in February last year after a school friend James Gilmore, a producer on the show, suggested he should present a weekly slot.

Gideon, who said he also has a great interest in education and sport, added: "I have a lot of views to put across - I want young people to join me in engaging in important matters."

The teenager has now moved on from the radio show to dedicate his spare time to the grassroots group We Believe in Israel.
