Saddened by trivial political storm over separate Crayford mosque doors

10:57am Thursday 11th April 2013

Letter to the editor: I read your article (Mosque Signs Are ‘Sexist’, News Shopper, March 27) and as a Muslim it saddens me the former BNP councillor brings such a trivial comment to light.

The sign is there to guide women to the area were they pray, as the men pray in a separate room.

As a Muslim, and for other Muslim brothers and sisters, this is not a problem and is not sexist. A protest will bring more conflict. I would encourage non-muslims to visit the mosque and see the very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere there.

Go and pay a visit and see what a beautiful place it is to visit.
