AN alliance which wants to make the North of England “great again” has thrown its backing behind an independent candidate standing for Parliament in Bradford.
The North of England Community Alliance, which supports community-based political parties and independent candidates fighting for the North, has endorsed Paul Parkins, a software developer from Apperley Bridge who is standing in Bradford East under the banner ‘Better for Bradford’.
Brian Moore, the alliance’s campaigns director, said: “Paul is fighting a strong campaign for change on behalf of local people. The national parties want their MPs to put their party first but Paul is not a career politician. He is passionate for Bradford and will put Bradford East first if he is elected as its MP.”
Mr Parkins said he was “delighted that my commitment has been recognised”.
