A MAN who led police on a minute-long chase while riding an unregistered quad bike has been spared prison.
Luke Risdon, 30, jumped on the machine outside his home address in Farleton Drive, Fagley, Bradford, on October 15 last year in front of officers who had been called to the area after reports of anti-social riding.
He pleaded guilty today to dangerous driving and charges of driving while disqualified and without insurance ahead of a trial scheduled to take place at Bradford Crown Court.
Despite numerous requests to stop, Risdon accelerated away from officers to drive dangerously on Fencote Crescent, Fagley Road, Fulford Walk, and Moorside Walk, at one stage mounting a grass verge in his bid to evade capture.
Describing his actions as “considerably dangerous”, Judge David Hatton QC jailed Risdon for eight months, suspended for two years, banned him from driving for a year, and imposed 200 hours of unpaid work.
