POLICE have seized this scooter from a rider who had received two previous warnings.
The man was spotted speeding and unnecessarily overtaking vehicles in Wrose Road, Wrose, Shipley.
He had previously been stopped in September for riding over a pavement to take a shortcut, and then again on Saturday, October 15, about using the scooter with a worn tyre.
He was stopped once more a little more than 24 hours after the last warning. He was also reported for the tyre offence.
PC David Hitchcocks, of West Yorkshire Police, said: “When motorists get the benefit of a warning, it is reasonable to expect them to accept this and do what has been asked.
“This person rode in a manner that caused another motorist to alter their own driving and this was done while using an illegal tyre – both types of behaviour he had specifically been warned about.
“There was less than one millimetre of tread in the middle of the tyre and around the edges – the vast majority was completely smooth.
“Given that road surfaces were also wet, riding like this could have ended very differently had the police not got involved.”
