A 26-YEAR-OLD man has been told he faces longer in prison after he admitted his role in two terrifying house burglaries.

Kashaf Rashid was due to be released from his current sentence in December, but today he pleaded guilty to being involved in attacks on two homes in Bradford in early 2015.

The two homes in Weetwood Road and Haworth Road were attacked by a gang of intruders in the space of 90 minutes on the afternoon of February 13.

The masked intruders demanded cash and jewellery from the female occupants of the properties and threatened their victims at knifepoint.

Rashid had faced two charges of aggravated burglary in relation to the two incidents, but at Bradford Crown Court today he pleaded guilty to alternative allegations of burglary on basis that he had been in a Volvo car used during the offences while others went into the houses.

Barrister Andrew Dallas conceded that Rashid faced a further prison sentence, but he asked for the case to be adjourned until May 5 so that material could be provided to the court which may affect the length of the new jail term.

Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC said he was prepared to adjourn the sentence hearing but added: "These are very serious matters.

"They were to an extent targeting members of the community who are known to be in possession of highly valued gold and silver items."

Rashid was taken back into custody to await his sentence next month.
