A MAN aged 24 has been jailed for three years after threatening to kill a little child and smashing up her toys when he flew into a jealous rage with her mother.

William Gradon lost his temper with the woman only days after receiving a suspended sentence for attacking her three times in six months, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.

Gradon, who was bailed to an address in Farfield Rise, Bailiff Bridge, Brighouse, pleaded guilty to two counts of making a threat to kill the child and an offence of affray.

He had previous convictions for battery and harassment of a previous partner, the court was told.

Between August and February, he committed three offences of battery on the little girl's mother, shoving her against a wall, banging her head on a metal railing and kicking her in the back and ribs.

On February 23, Gradon received a suspended 20 week jail term for those offences.

He was imprisoned for 32 months for the affray and threats to kill, with four months of the suspended sentence activated consecutively.

A five year restraining order bars him from contacting the complainant.
