A MAN has appeared in court after he was seen dumping bags of loft insulation on land near Parkside Road, in West Bowling.

Ratislav Kasuka, 29, and two other men were seen by police officers dumping 12 black bin liners and a trampoline in March last year, Bradford Magistrates were told.

The men's details were passed on to Bradford Council and a prosecution followed.

Kasuka, of Spring Mill Street, West Bowling, Bradford, at the time of the offence, pleaded guilty to disposing of controlled waste. He was fined £100 with £250 costs with £20 Victim Surcharge.

One of the other men involved has already been prosecuted for the offence and a warrant for the arrest of the other has been issued.

After the case, Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Environment, Sport and Culture, said: “Flytipping is a terrible blight on our community and we are determined to try our best to catch those irresponsible, thoughtless individuals who try and get away with it.

“Flytipping is criminal offence and we will continue to treat it as such.

“There is no excuse for dumping rubbish on the streets and we appreciate the help of the courts in our fight against this menace.

“If you see flytipping taking place, please note down as many details as possible, including vehicle licence plate numbers and inform the Council.”

Flytipping can be reported be calling the Council 01274 434366 and asking for the environment enforcement team.
