A PENSIONER caught with more than 20 images of child porn on his computer has avoided jail.
The images were discovered when police executed a warrant at the home of Jeffrey Brewin, 66, on Swain House Crescent, Bradford, on November 3 last year. A total of 22 images were found, ten of which were of the most serious category A, plus eight category B, and four category C.
Brewin had deleted 21 of the images, but one, a category A movie, was still accessible.
Officers also found file-sharing software on the computer, as well as programmes used to permanently delete files.

Brewin had pleaded guilty to three counts of both making and distributing indecent images of children prior to yesterday’s hearing at Bradford Crown Court.
Abdul Shakoor, for Brewin, said there was “no evidence of direct or active distribution” of the images, and that his client had shared the material at the same time as downloading it.
Judge Colin Burn said Brewin had become interested in some “pretty appalling images.”
He sentenced him to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years, and a 30-day rehabilitation requirement. Brewin must also register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
