Students at the University of Bradford are backing the Telegraph & Argus Bradford Crocus Cancer Appeal by creating a crocus garden on campus.

Team Bradford, the banner under which sports teams and societies at the University meet and compete, has nominated our £1 million appeal as its RAG (Raise and Give Week) charity for 2014.

They have started planting bulbs outside the University’s School of Health, which will raise awareness of the campaign. They were joined by Russ Piper, chief executive of Sovereign Health Care Charitable Trust, which is working with the T&A, the University and Yorkshire Cancer Research for the appeal.

We are aiming to raise £1 million to buy the University’s Institute of Cancer Therapeutics, a mass spectrometer spectrometer, which will allow scientists to pioneer new, less toxic cancer treatments quicker than ever before.
