Bulls stars will be put through their paces this week at a party to mark the success of a major health research project in the city.
Thousands of families who are part of the Born in Bradford (BiB) initiative have been invited to Lister Park on Thursday for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
The event will offer family fun, games, attractions and healthcare information for children, adults and teddies alike.
Thanks to the Bradford Bulls, there will also be the chance for children to improve their rugby skills with tips and advice from the club’s community coaches.
More than 10,000 families are already part of the BiB project, which will track the babies over the next 20 years from womb to adulthood so doctors can learn more about how to improve the health of people living in Bradford and elsewhere.
Professor John Wright, of the Bradford Institute of Health Research at Bradford Royal Infirmary, said: “The event is designed to celebrate the success of the project to date, and also to thank the families who have agreed to take part.
“It is also a great opportunity to access a range of advice and have some fun.”
Free fruit and water will be provided on the day but families are encouraged to bring their own picnic – and bears. The party starts at 11.30am.
