Triplets chosen for new Born in Bradford birthday card

Three is a magic number for thousands of toddlers involved in a ground-breaking Bradford health research project.

Born in Bradford (BiB) has unveiled the design of its latest birthday card – featuring its newest set of triplets – which will be sent out to all its children when they reach the age of three.

Danyaal Shah, Siraj Ahmed Shah and Abdul Mumin Shah were born to proud parents Tilla and Azam at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

The couple already have two daughters so to see the family more than double came as quite a shock.

They were very interested in becoming part of the Born in Bradford project as asthma and eczema – two complex conditions that BiB researchers are trying to unravel – both run in the family.

The photos were captured by BiB artist-in-residence, Ian Beesley. Poet Ian McMillan has also penned a special poem for the card, which will start landing through participants’ letterboxes in April.

BiB programme manager Dr Pauline Raynor said: “The oldest children in the project will be turning three this year. Sending a birthday card is just one of the ways in which we thank those families who have volunteered to join our project.”

The Born in Bradford project will give Bradford researchers vital information about childhood health.
