Bingley Rotary Club has presented a cheque for £3,700 to Breeda Barry, fundraiser for The Ear Trust, a charity which supports the work of the Bradford-based Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service.
The money was raised at the Bingley Show dinner, which also raised money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The money for The Ear Trust will be used to support the new Listening for Life Centre in the grounds of Bradford Royal Infirmary.
The centre, which is the home of the Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service, is now open but still needs funding for various fittings and equipment.
Mrs Barry said: “I would like to say a very big thank you to Bingley Rotary for their support over the last few years. If you would like to support this charity we have Sponsor a Stone. We have 130 stones left to sponsor at £10 each. This would make a lovely Christmas Gift, and get your name on the ‘Roll of Honour’.
“To apply send name, address and name for the Certificate with a cheque to: Mrs B Barry, The Listening for Life Centre, Bradford Royal Infirmary, BD9 6RJ or telephone (01274) 364853.
