Sculpture of senses is unveiled

A sculpture called The Quartet has been unveiled at Bradford’s new Listening for Life Centre, home to the Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service in the grounds of Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Designed by Amber Thiora, a sixth form student at the Girls’ Grammar School, Bradford, it represents the senses, especially hearing.

Architects Healthcare Design Partnership, of Shipley, worked with pupils at the school to find a winning design, which was installed by HACS Construction.

It was made possible thanks to the sponsorship of Bradford’s Sovereign Health Care and chief executive Russ Piper said: “Chris Raine and his team do fantastic work and it is only fitting that they are now in the purpose built building and the sculpture is the icing on the cake.”
