An acclaimed artist inspired by the Dales and admired by Prince Charles is displaying his work in Bradford to raise money to help the deaf.
Piers Browne has put on the exhibition at the Bradford Club in Piece Hall Yard to help fundraise for consultant Chris Raine’s new state-of-the-art cochlear implant unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary, an appeal backed by the Telegraph & Argus.
The painter’s works feature in the private collection of Prince Charles who wrote the preface for Mr Browne’s book, The Glorious Trees of Great Britain.
Twenty five per cent of the sales from the etchings will go to the unit.
Peter Townsend, of the Bradford Club, said: “Chris and his colleagues at the unit have been great supporters of the Bradford Club over the past few years and this is our way of thanking them.”
Club President Sir James Hill said: “The paintings make a wonderful addition to the lounge and we hope they help raise a lot of money.”
