A HOME care agency is celebrating after a Care Quality Commission inspection found the standard of their care to be 'outstanding'.

Ladies in Waiting, based in Skipton Road, Ilkley, was visited by the health and social care inspectors between March 19 and 29, and given an overall rating of 'good'. This was the same rating as a previous inspection in 2016, however, it improved its rating in the 'Is this service caring?' domain to 'outstanding'.

Ladies in Waiting provide personal care to people living in their own houses and flats in the community. It provides a service to older adults and at the time of the inspection was caring for 25 people.

The Care Quality Commission report said: "We found an extremely caring service. Staff demonstrated very caring values and were highly passionate about the people they were supporting. They had developed exceptionally strong relationships with the people they supported.

"The trust developed between people and staff helped promote people's independence, confidence and helped them achieve good outcomes. People had a say in who supported them, and great care was taken to match people and staff with shared interests. We saw staff regularly went the extra mile for people, to ensure their comfort and meet their preferences."

The service was rated 'good' in the other domains which ask whether the service is safe, effective, responsive and well-led.

The registered manager of Ladies in Waiting, Andrew Crabtree said: “Ladies In Waiting has worked hard to achieve the recognition for the care that our wonderful ladies deliver to our clients with our recent rating of Outstanding in Care.

"We are very proud of our excellent team and the reputation they have helped us establish in Ilkley and surrounding areas. "What a fantastic way to celebrate our 10th year anniversary. We like to think we’re still the first choice for bespoke home care in our area.”
