FIRMS and businesspeople have until next Friday to enter this year’s Telegraph & Argus Bradford Means Business Awards after the deadline was extended.

The district’s best in business will be honoured at the seventh annual awards night. This year’s glitzy ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 6, at the Aagrah Midpoint Suite in Thornbury.

The deadline for entries in all ten categories is now Friday, April 7.

The categories where invitations are invited from firms and businesspeople are: New Business of the Year; Small or Medium Enterprise of the Year; Manufacturer of the Year; Job Creator of the Year; Business Woman of the Year; Apprentice of the Year; Business Personality of the Year and Business or Technical Innovation of the Year.

The public are invited to put forward nominations in two further categories – Retail, Leisure or Hospitality Business of the Year, and Employer of the Year.

The best of the best will also be crowned on the night with the Winner of Winners prize.

They will follow in the footsteps of last year’s top prizewinner, Ucan Recycling.

Nominations can be made by completing a form on the Telegraph & Argus website. Each category has its own dedicated section and each award has its own entry form.

Anyone who believes they are eligible to enter more than one category will have to fill in a form for each award.

After Friday’s deadline has passed, the judging panel will assess the entries and draw up a shortlist of three candidates in each category.

These shortlists will be announced nearer to the date of the ceremony.

One business which has already been nominated by the public in the Retail, Leisure or Hospitality Business of the Year category is Pennine Cycles, based in Thornton Road, Bradford, which won the award in 2015 and again last year.
