A FURNITURE store in Bradford city centre will be relocating to Keighley.
The Bedshop will cease trading on Sunbridge Road later this month after 45 years in the city. It will be relocating to Keighly Retail Park on Hard Ings Road.
Branch manager Stuart Butterfield blamed a 50 per cent downturn in footfall in the city over the past five years.
He confirmed the relocation secured seven jobs, adding: “We shall be trading in more than 6,000 square feet of retail park on one level as opposed to three levels at present. We hope to complete the move by the end of September and shall be extending our range of bedroom furniture, top name bed brands, electric lift and rise recliner chairs, sofa beds and electric adjustable beds.
“In a bid to stay loyal to our existing customers we wanted to stay in the BD postcode area and considering the excellent public transport links between Keighley and Bradford we are confident the move will prove popular with our past, present and future customers.”
